Our Team at AMAL Institute will ensure that the Nikah ceremony goes smooth. We will do our best to accommodate your requests and make it a memorable event for you and your family.

A Nikah (Marriage Ceremony) is a covenant between Allah, yourself and your spouse to honor, respect and care for each other. Please read the following requirements below.

To conduct a Nikah, the following requirements must be met:

• • Bride and Groom’s consent to Marry.
  • Two Muslim Witnesses.
  • Bride’s Wali (Guardian).
  • Legal ‘Marriage License’ from the County Court’s  Marriage Clerk Office. 
    • Obtain a Marriage License from your local County Court. (Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery). Please contact your County Clerk’s Office for fees and other requirements.
    • A Marriage License is valid for 30-90 days depending on your county court from the date of the issue.
    • Marriage License is NOT valid for the FIRST 72 hours from the time and date when it was issued.
    • A confirmation of the Imam to officiate the Nikah.
    • The Marriage License and Marriage Certificate must be signed by all involved parties and dated.
    • Once and after the Nikah ceremony; 1. The Marriage License, along with 2. Islamic Marriage Certificate must be submitted to the Islamic Center for Filing and Issuance Purposes. The admin will file and return both documents. 
    • The next step is to submit the Court Marriage License to the County Court where it was acquired from to be filed with the State. Please note the the Islamic Marriage Certificate does not need to be submitted to the Court as the Imam will sign the Marriage License it self. 

Our Imams can perform Nikah at any venue of your choice. Please note the availability and charges for each Imam may vary.

Please note that the CHARGES for the Nikah are a contribution to support our institute and to cover administrative and Imam’s Fee. Please note that booking of venue/ masjid / hotel is our responsibility.
