Houston Quran Competition by AMAL Institute


Join us for the prestigious Houston Quran Competition 2026, a blessed event organized by Amal Institute in collaboration with Maryam Quran Academy, and Brand Lane Islamic Center. This is an opportunity for participants of all ages and levels to showcase their love for the Holy Quran, test their memorization skills, and compete for incredible prizes!

  • Registration Fee: $15 per participant.

  • Registration Deadline January 20th, 2026.     

  • Acceptance: Registration acceptance is pending payment of the fee. 

  • Limited Spots! Registration will close once capacity is reached in that category.

📋Competition Rules & Guidelines

  • Participants may compete in only one category.

  • Age eligibility is based on the participant’s age as of January 20, 2026.

  • Judges’ decisions are final; no formal appeals will be considered.

  • Participants must attend all required dates for their category.

  • Participants should arrive early and be prepared with proper attire and materials.

📐Judging Criteria

Participants will be evaluated on four core aspects:

    1. Memorization Accuracy: Precision in word retention and continuity.

    2. Tajweed (Rules of Recitation): Correct pronunciation and application of Tajweed rules.

    3. Fluency & Delivery: Smoothness of recitation, pace, confidence, and clarity.

    4. Overall Presentation: Voice quality, recitation style, and respectful conduct.

📍Competition Format

  1. Preliminary Rounds
  2. Evaluation focuses on memorization integrity and Tajweed application.
  3. Successful candidates advance to the Grand Finale.
  4. Top contestants from each category compete for final placement and prizes.

📍What to Bring

  • Minors must be accompanied by a guardian

  • Valid ID for age verification
  • Calm focus and confidence
